How much chlorine should I add to a pool?
It depends on the water volume and the chlorine level you want to reach. As a guide, raising 1 ppm in 1 m³ (1,000 litres) needs 1 gram of available chlorine; the amount of product varies with its concentration.
What is the difference between maintenance and shock chlorination?
Maintenance keeps free chlorine around 1-2 ppm. Shock chlorination raises chlorine to about 10 ppm to clear algae and contamination after a problem or heavy use.
How do I know my pool volume?
Multiply length × width × average depth for rectangular pools. This calculator does it for you for rectangular, round and oval pools.
