Indicative calculation. Always follow your product manufacturer’s instructions, as the actual concentration may vary.
It depends on the water volume and the chlorine level you want to reach. As a guide, raising 1 ppm in 1 m³ (1,000 litres) needs 1 gram of available chlorine; the amount of product varies with its concentration.
Maintenance keeps free chlorine around 1-2 ppm. Shock chlorination raises chlorine to about 10 ppm to clear algae and contamination after a problem or heavy use.
