Chlorinators

A chlorinator turns pool maintenance into something close to automatic: it generates disinfectant from ordinary salt, or doses product based on a live reading, so pool chlorine levels stay stable without you having to watch over them.

It is the first step towards pool automation. Compared with adding product by hand, an automatic system avoids the peaks and troughs in concentration — exactly what spoils the water and irritates skin and eyes.

Salt electrolysis produces disinfectant continuously from a very low salt concentration you will not notice while swimming. It is one of the most direct routes to a sustainable pool: far less chemical product to buy and store, and noticeably softer water.

The most complete automatic pool systems pair the chlorinator with a pH probe, so the equipment corrects itself before the water drifts out of range. Combined with a variable-speed pump, that is the foundation of a smart pool that runs itself all season.
